Polish anti-Semitism still alive in the eyes of victims
This is shocking textimony I discovered recently on an internet web site,
which claims to be based at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Maybe the situation was like described in southern Poland. Residents
are protexting that this was not the case. The only first account
textimony I have heard was the one by my mother. It was quite opposite.
Maybe because she lived in central Poland. My mother described Poles
as helpful and sympathetic to Jews, because they were hunted by Germans.
My father had no accounts on that subject, because he was taken prisoner
of war in 1939 and spent all years of war in Germany in a labor camp.
I feel that such account of textimony should be balanced with another
good example. We know by now that there was far more good Poles helping
Jews than those who collaborated. Generalizations like those here are
very insulting to Polish nation:

PR More friendly than the Poles?
LS Yes. More friendly than the Poles.
PR I often hear that the Poles were worse than the Germans.
LS If you give them a free hand, they would be. They were kind of cold blooded, they didn't care. They can kill a Jew easy. It was a pleasure to them.
PR Is it wrong to generalize about all Poles?
LS I don't generalize. Whoever did it. The can't minimize the, you can't do away with it.
PR I wonder what my chances would have been if I had jumped from a train and sought help from a peasant's hut.
