7:30 p.m. - Remembering and Renewing Jewish Culture in Post-Holocaust, Post-Communist Poland
A roundtable discussion with Samuel Kassow, Janusz Makuch, Eleonora
Bergman and Zachary Baker. Moderator: Gabriella Safran
Stanford University, Building 200, Room 307 (History Conference Room)
In recent years, Jewish life in Poland -- once the great, historic
heartland of European Jewry, and in the wake of the Second World War
its most devastating graveyard -- has assumed a higher visibility,
and level of creativity. This panel will discuss these changes, how
they came about, their larger significance for Polish, and Jewish
life, and what might transpire in the future?
This event is open to the public.
